Stephani Lewis is a seasoned Costume Designer with a rich background in the world of film and television. Armed with a degree in Design for Performance from the University of New Mexico, she embarked on her journey by immersing herself in local productions during her schooling years.
After graduating, Stephani swiftly ascended through the ranks, initially serving as a Set Costumer and Seamstress before advancing to the role of Assistant Designer. Her passion and dedication soon led her to New York City, where she continued to hone her craft. Her career breakthrough came with her involvement as a Seamstress in the acclaimed film “No Country for Old Men,” a project that clinched four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. This auspicious start paved the way for her to collaborate on a diverse array of independent productions as the Assistant Costume Designer, ranging from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s “Sugar” to Derek Cianfrance’s poignant dramas “Blue Valentine” and “The Place Beyond the Pines.”
Stephani’s crowning achievement came with her work on the groundbreaking film “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” which garnered widespread acclaim and earned four Academy Award nominations. Her exceptional talent in costume design earned her a coveted nomination for Excellence in Contemporary Film from the Costume Designers Guild.
Continuing her trajectory of success, Stephani has lent her expertise to an impressive roster of projects, including the critically acclaimed television series “Ozark,” HBO’s “The Outsider,” and Apple+’s “Dark Matter.” Her portfolio also boasts collaborations with filmmakers such as Alfonso Gomez-Rejon and John McNaughton, further solidifying her reputation as a versatile and accomplished Costume Designer.
Currently, Stephani is immersed in the captivating world of Paramount’s “Mayor Of Kingstown,” showcasing her enduring commitment to excellence in every project she undertakes.
