MFA Photography Alumni, Anna Rotty and Brianna Tadeo, Selected for “FORECAST 2025” at SF Camerawork

“Sun Bent Sediment,” double-sided pigment print photograph, acrylic mirror, dry mud flake collected from Rio Grande, Albuquerque, NM, 85”x42”x9”, 2024
The Department of Art is thrilled to congratulate MFA Photography alumni Anna Rotty and Brianna Tadeo on the selection of their work for “FORECAST 2025” at SF Camerawork! This exhibition, running from May 30-August 16, 2025, at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, features emerging imagemakers from around the globe.
Anna Rotty’s work explores the intersections of water, light, and infrastructure, with a focus on the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, where she examines both the physical and symbolic forces shaping landscapes. Through her layered photographic portraits, Rotty reflects on themes of place, power, and the environment.

“Shadows of an echo of a place,” 14’ x 15’ x 1” and smaller version 4’ x 5’ x 1 From Series: “These fleeting shadows dissolve by day’s light” This piece is composed of six 4” x 5” steel panels that intersect to create a shadow silhouette of California Bay Laurels from Berkeley Hill, overlooking Lake Anza.
Brianna Tadeo’s practice merges analog and digital photography to explore the transient beauty of impermanence. With a focus on memory, transformation, and decay, their work challenges the boundaries between photography and lived experience, creating tactile works that reflect the quiet magic of light.
Rotty and Tadeo will be showing their work alongside other incredible artists, including Jonathan Mark Jackson and Jonah Reenders.
