The UNM Art Museum invites you to explore the world of museum careers on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Jaune Quick-to-See Smith: All My Relations is organized by Tamarind Institute in
honor of the late American artist, an experienced and prolific printmaker who first connected with Tamarind in 1979 during her graduate years at University of New Mexico at the invitation of Director Emerita Marjorie Devon. Smith would go on to professionally collaborate with the workshop on over 40 editions, the longest-running relationship the workshop has had with any woman artist.
All My Relations features 20 lithographs by Smith, made in residence at Tamarind from 1980 to 2022, alongside works by artists whose paths and practices were influenced through their meeting and longterm relationship with the artist, including Jeffrey Gibson, Rose B. Simpson, Duane Slick, Marie Watt and Emmi Whitehorse.

A conversation on Smith’s artistic community and influence will be held on
Thurday, April 2, 5:30pm, with Neal Ambrose-Smith, Emmi Whitehorse, and George Alexander,
moderated by University of New Mexico professor and author Subhankar Banerjee (RSVP, limited capacity).
Public hours to view additional works by Smith from the Tamarind Archive in the study
room at the University of New Mexico Art Museum will be held 2–4pm on Friday, February 13,
March 13, March 27 and April 3 during the course of the exhibition.
