Jennifer Ammons is serving as the Visiting Assistant Professor of Costume Design for the 20222023 Season after taking a brief hiatus I North Carolina during the Pandemic. She has served as a Costume Designer for the Ohio Light Opera from 2018-2022 designing operettas including Pirates of Penzance; Iolanthe; The Devil’s Rider (US Premiere); Clo Clo (US Premiere); and The Student Prince. While in Memphis where she received her MFA in 2018, she deisgned productions for Theatre and Dance as well as the Opera Program. Some of those shows include, Albert Herring; Measure for Measure; The Servant of Two Masters; Empires of Eternal Void (World Premiere); and Momentum Dance.
Also while in Memphis, Jennifer worked with The Tennessee Shakespeare Company designing The Romeo and Juliet Project which toured at risk schools and juvenile detention centers to teach and demonstrate the risks of violence and non-violent conflict resolution. Jennifer is very happy to be a part of the UNM community, and is excited to explore a new part of the country and the cultures native to Albuquerque
