Angie is our Department Administrator and teaches one film history and criticism course each semester. In spring 2020, she was awarded second place in the UNM Affiliated Faculty of the Year Awards and received the UNM Feminist Research Institute Faculty Research Grant. Recent publications include an essay on the slavesploitation film Drum (1976) in The Encyclopedia of Racism in American Films (2018) and on producer Sherry Lansing in Hollywood Heroines: The Most Influential Women in Film History (2018). Before joining UNM full-time, she was the online educational content manager for cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, ASC (Need for Speed, Terminator Salvation).
Angie is a member of the Executive Committee of the UNM Staff Council, where she also represents the staff of the College of Fine Arts and School of Engineering. She co-founded the Staff Council Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in spring 2020 and received a Staff Council Star Award in both 2018 and 2019.
