The Department of Music

The Piano Program at UNM has a distinguished reputation:

It has attracted numerous national and international students from across the United States, Europe and Asia. These students have gone on to be prizewinners and finalists of national and international piano competitions, winners of national and international scholarships, and doctoral students in the finest piano programs of the country.

The program offers a professional education in piano. Applied lessons for solo performance and collaborative piano, piano technique, pedagogy, ensemble, and repertory classes for undergraduate and graduate students. Student recitals for solo piano and many opportunities for chamber music performances offer professional performance experience in Keller Hall and several other community venues.

How to Apply

• All students must be admitted to the University, whether as an incoming freshman, transfer student, or non-degree student. Apply online through the Admissions Department at UNM

•After meeting all CFA admission requirements, students must apply to become a declared major.
